Draw a Pair of Tangents to a Circle of Radius 6 cm Which are Inclined to each other at an Angle of 60. Also Find the Length of the Tangent | Bzziii.com

Draw a pair of tangents to a circle of radius 6cm which are inclined to each other at an angle of `60^0`. Also find the length of the tangent.

Tangents to a Circle of Radius 6 cm Which are Inclined to each other at an Angle of 60

Step 1: Draw two concentric circles with focus O of 6cm

Step 2: Draw OA and OB with angle `120^0`

Step 3: Now, Draw ∠OAP = ∠OBP = `90^0`

Step 4: PA and PB are required digressions

Step 5: Now, Join OP

∴ tan ∠APO = tan 30° = `6/"PA"`

⇒ tan 30° = `6/"PA"`

⇒ `\sqrt{3}` = `6/"PA"`

⇒ PA = `6\sqrt{3}`

∴the length of the tangents are `6\sqrt{3}`cm
