Franz was felling very sorry for M. Hamel .His teacher was going away .He would never see him again .This feeling was painful for him.He forgot all his previous nation about M. Hamel that he was cranky and strict . Even he forgot all about his scolding, beatings and even his Iron ruler. Books suddenly becomes his friends , his books that he feel heavy to carry on , were his ‘old friends’ now.
