The people in this story suddenly realise how precious their language is to them. What shows you this ? Why does this happen ?
At the beginning we find that the people of Alsace were not serious about their own language , they did not even care to learn it properly.But,as soon as order comes from Berlin. When Alsac and Loraine loss in the battle and comes in the hands of the Prussians, and therefor they are now to teach Only German language in the schools there.The people of Alsace, as we found, were not caring for their language, grammar, history etc. M. hamel realise that French is the most beautiful language in the world- the clearest, the most logical and they are the ones who need to guard their own language and try not to forget it.
