A.The threads on one beam are kept under regular tension and the threads on the other beam are kept in loose tension. Yarns are wound on two warp beams in groups of 10 to 16 for a narrow strip. As the reed pushes the weft thread into place, the loose threads shrink or buckle to form a pucked stripe, making the regular tension yarn a flat strip. the stripes are always in the warp direction.Today, seersucker is produced by a limited number of manufacturers.
