Sophie didn't want Jansie to know about her story with Danny beause she knew that Jansie was a nosey kind of girl. If Jansie happens to know something she'll spread that in the whole neighbourhood. Sophie was afraid that now the whole neighbourhood will come to know about her story. This was only why Sophie did not want Jansie to know her story.
